Uhh, Hello?
The most arrogant of all human actions without argument has to be the non response to a casual hello.
A simple hello is probably the least suggestive, most humble, and friendly thing one can do upon another, however, all too often it goes completely unobserved. An unrecognized hello is as close to a slap in the face as one can get without making solid contact with the greeter's face.
Bringing back the casual hello, coupled with an equally casual response, could be the beginning of the end for unwarranted pompousness.
I do not argue people should be ridiculously nice and strike up conversations with completely random people. All I propose is that when someone says hello, you respond with a simple gesture instead of completely ignoring him/her.
So don't forget to offer a polite response to the next person who offers a polite hello.
